Keeler Tavern Museum joins the library along with numerous other community organizations from January through June 2013 to present activities and events in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

"Three Centuries of History at Lott II"

Stories you will want to know, from Wilderness Doors to the Woolworth Building. This joint exhibit--of objects and documents from Keeler Tavern Museum and Ridgefield Historical Society--tells the stories of the families and visitors who, living at what is now Keeler Tavern Museum, took part in Ridgefield’s and the nation’s political, social, and economic evolution.

Find Treasures all over Ridgefield. Using a free booklet available at Keeler Tavern Museum, its website, and many locations in town, families are guided to 20+ historic points of interest in Ridgefield and earn an opportunity to receive prizes.

Bake A CakeFor the Keeler Tavern Museum’s 300th Birthday Party

If you love to bake, you are invited to participate in a CAKE CONTEST to help us celebrate the 300th Birthday of the original homestead here on Lott II, now Keeler Tavern Museum at 132 Main Street.

Just bake what you love!

All cakes will be judged for APPEARANCE and TASTE by a select panel of judges. Winners will be announced at Saturday, June 15th, at our Birthday Party here at the Museum, between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. After judging, your cake will be served free of charge to all birthday guests.

Walk Through History TOURS:

In a delightful stroll throughout our campus, offered only on June 15th, these 45-minute tours bring you face-to-face with eight of the past residents of what is now the Keeler Tavern Museum. Come meet Benjamin Hoyt who built the original homestead in 1713; Patriot Timothy and Esther Keeler who established the tavern in 1772 and survived the British cannon fire; their daughter Anna Keeler and her husband Abijah Resseguie who continued as Innkeepers for decades; their only daughter Anna Marie Resseguie who recorded the Civil War years in her diary; as well as famous early 20th Century architect Cass and his wife Julia Gilbert who brought the air of high society to the “Cannonball House.” Tours are approximately 45 minutes.
