In our Garden House, hundreds of antiques are displayed in arranged rooms showcasing furniture, mirrors, paintings, glass, china, silver and other decorative accessories. Stroll in our glorious gardens to select furniture for your patio or terrace. Gently worn treasures suitable for a first home, apartment, or dorm may be found under the tent and in the Cass Gilbert Barn.


Donations and consignments, accepted between July 28th and August 3rd, may be furniture in good condition, rugs, lamps, china, glass, works of art, garden furniture, and historic memorabilia, such as maps and vintage books. We do not accept clothing, appliances, exercise machines, or current books. Inquiries about consignment and/or donation (tax letter provided) are welcomed after June 20, 2015, at 203/431-3094.

3rd Annual Scarecrow Contest in Conjunction with Fall for Ridgefield

Date: Friday, September 25, 2015 – Sunday, October 18, 2015

Where: Keeler Tavern Museum Campus

Cost: $25 for scarecrow frame


Decorate a scarecrow and enter our contest. Voting occurs on Main Street during Fall for Ridgefield Weekend and on Facebook. Scarecrows will be available at the Museum for purchase beginning Monday, September 21. Check back here in August for contest instructions.

Cass Gilberts Legacy: More Than Beautiful Buildings

Dr. Barbara S. Christen, an expert on Cass Gilbert, will lecture on Cass Gilbert’s architectural and philanthropic achievements, with a wine reception to follow (additional fee).  Reception attendees will enjoy informal time with Dr. Christen as well as an exclusive, first look at the Carol Highsmith photography show (see below).

Cass Gilbert as Seen through a Camera Lens

Carol M. Highsmith, who was born in North Carolina and raised in Minnesota, has been called “America’s Photographer.”  The Carol M. Highsmith Collection at the Library of Congress is featured in the top six collections out of 15 million images in the Library’s Prints & Photographs archive. Highsmith has begun a multi-year project that involves photographing 21st-century America for the Library of Congress, picking up where Lange left off during the WPA project of the 1930s. As part of this effort, she has photographed many notable Cass Gilbert buildings, including what is now Keeler Tavern Museum; a selection of these photographs will be on view in this exhibition.

Jack Sanders: Hidden History of Ridgefield, Connecticut

Barn Tag Sale

Proceeds of this sale of used household goods, furniture, and decorative items help to fund the Museum’s ongoing improvements to the Cass Gilbert Carriage Barn.

Cannonball Gala to Benefit KTMs Education Initiative

Join us for cocktails, dinner, and dancing, with silent and live auctions to benefit the Museum’s Education Initiative. We will  toast our honoree, Joan Payden, CEO of Payden & Rygel, one of the largest privately owned investment advisors with $95 billion in assets under management. Ms. Payden’s generosity is well known to area cultural organizations and includes having made possible the Museum’s expanded offerings for school children in 2015.
