School Tours. Fourth graders of Ridgefield tour the Keeler Tavern Museum as part of their academic program for the year. Arrangements are made by a Museum representative who contacts the teachers in the various Ridgefieled lower schools. Before the tours a guide from the Museum visits each classroom and tells the students something of what they will see when the visit. The children tour the building and guides tell them of the way children lived in the 18th and early 19th centuries.

Private and parochial schools in the are often make arrangements for their students to tour the Museum. These students are usually in the third or fourth grades when their school program covers early American History.

There is a nominal charge per student and per chaperone for school tours. Please call the Keeler Tavern Museum for details at 203-438-5485. Expanded programs that include dance, games, home making and other skills of the era can be arranged at additional cost.
