Poetry in the Garden (formerly "A Garden of Verse") is back for another summer season! The series, produced by Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita Barb Jennes, will feature some of the nation's leading poets. Join us in KTM&HC's beautiful historic walled garden for weekly readings throughout the month of July. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and readings begin at 7 p.m.

The second event in the series, on July 8, features Jared Harel and Emily Hockaday.

Jared Harél is the author, most recently, of Let Our Bodies Change the Subject, which was selected by Kwame Dawes as the Winner of the 2022 Raz/Shumaker Prairie Schooner Book Prize in Poetry. He’s been awarded the Stanley Kunitz Memorial Prize from American Poetry Review and the William Matthews Poetry Prize from Asheville Poetry Review.

Emily Hockaday’s second collection, In a Body, was published by Harbor Editions in 2023. Her first full-length, Naming the Ghost, debuted with Cornerstone Press in 2022. She is the author of six poetry chapbooks, most recently Beach Vocabulary out from Red Bird Chaps & Name this Body from Thrash Press.
