Education

Drawing from hundreds of years of site-specific history, KTM&HC’s educational programs make learning come alive with immersive experiences across the American history timeline. We offer educational resources for students, teachers, and families: from field trips and in-classroom programs to research support and customizable professional development opportunities.

“We loved our trip . . . We really hit all of the major connections we wanted to and the students were engaged and excited!” ~A Bridgeport elementary teacher

Through interactive storytelling, primary source document and object analysis, and hands-on activities, students make personal connections to history. We prioritize inquiry-based learning, empowering students to learn about our site-specific history and make connections to broader national themes. Our goal is to grow students’ critical thinking, curiosity, and empathy.

NEW for 2026-2027!

KTM&HC is a proud partner organization in the Civics Education through Museum Education (CEME) initiative, made possible by a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. CEME makes it easy and affordable for K-12 students to learn about their communities and their government, growing their civic knowledge, skills, and dispositions.
