Jeremiah Keeler witnessed the Battle and enlisted in the Continental Army afterward. For his bravery years later at Yorktown, the Marquis de Lafayette presented him with a:

  4. Jeweled sash

The story goes that Jeremiah used the sword as a walking stick as he made his way on foot from Virginia to Ridgefield. Unfortuately, it disappeared some years ago.
