Which female Confederate sympathizer-turned-spy did President Jefferson Davis credit with his success at the first Battle of Bull Run?
Rose ascended the ranks of Washington society as the wife of a wealthy doctor. She used her social contacts to obtain information to pass on to the South. She was arrested and, along with her daughter Rose, incarcerated in Capitol Prison.
