Free Site Admission this Saturday, June 8, for Connecticut Open House Day

June 4, 2024

Ridgefield, Conn.— Connecticut Open House Day is this Saturday, June 8, and Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC) is joining other attractions across Connecticut to encourage visitors to learn more about all our state has to offer. Site admission will be free from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – don’t miss out!

KTM&HC is excited to once again participate in the state's annual Open House Day, which inspires Connecticut residents to become more aware of the amazing experiences in their own backyard. This year is Connecticut Open House Day’s twentieth anniversary – twenty years of celebrating the unique array of attractions that make the state so special.

KTM&HC will offer 30-minute "Highlights" tours of our historic tavern museum, where visitors of all ages can get a great overview of the hundreds of years of site history we interpret. In the carriage barn, get hands-on with our History Workshop exhibition, with opportunities to try out games, quill pen writing, and other daily activities from the 18th and 19th centuries. Visitors can also explore our four-acre campus, including our historic walled garden in gorgeous full bloom.

Register in advance to secure your spot on one of the museum tours, as we often sell out on free site admission days. Head to www.keelertavernmuseum.org/visit for tickets.

On June 8, more than 200 tourism attractions across the state – including museums, arts and cultural venues, historical sites, farms, and restaurants – will welcome visitors with free or discounted admission or special offers.
