Ridgefield, Conn.— In a few short weeks, gather with us at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center’s (KTM&HC) Cannonball Gala to support the museum’s mission and honor Sarah and Bernard Bouïssou for their many contributions to KTM&HC and the community. A limited number of tickets are still available for the May 1 event!
For over 26 years, Sarah and Bernard Bouïssou have been an integral part of the Ridgefield community, using their culinary talents to support and uplift countless local arts organizations and nonprofits, including KTM&HC. Through their generosity, philanthropy, and dedication to hospitality, they have helped bring people together while consistently giving back.
“The Bouïssous have been stalwart partners with KTM&HC for many years,” said Executive Director Hildegard Grob. “Their culinary contributions and unmatched hospitality have elevated our exhibitions, events, and gatherings. We share so many important values – commitment to community, sustainability, connection to our land and shared history – and KTM&HC is thrilled to honor Sarah and Bernard at this year’s Gala.”
Bernard, a native of Saint-Étienne-de-Tulmont, France, began his culinary career at age 13 and went on to work in some of New York City’s most celebrated kitchens, including Le Cirque and Le Plaza Athénée under Daniel Boulud. Sarah began her career in New Jersey before refining her skills in France and becoming the first female line cook at Le Cirque, where the couple met.
In 2000, they opened Bernard’s in Ridgefield, which became a beloved institution known for its exceptional cuisine and warm hospitality, earning Business of the Year, Best Restaurant in CT and Citizen of the Year from the Ridgefield Rotary Club. Today, they continue their culinary journey with À Table, where they continue to feed the community.
Join us at the Cannonball Gala on May 1 to honor the Bouïssous! Attendees will enjoy an evening of cocktails and dinner, lively auctions and a paddle raise, and socializing with friends, family, and colleagues. The party will extend into the night with our Cannonball Afterparty, featuring DJ Miles Elliot, an open bar, and late-night bites.
All proceeds from the Gala benefit the museum, allowing KTM&HC to continue to deliver on its mission to preserve and share its collections and stories. And this year, both our silent and live auctions will be available to bidders anywhere! The silent auction opens for bidding online on Friday, April 24 and closes on Friday, May 1 at 8:15pm. Live auction items – like a one-of-a-kind quilt by Harvey Fierstein – will be auctioned during the event, and proxy bidding is available. Purchase Gala tickets and submit bids for our auctions at www.keelertavernmuseum.org/gala/.
Tickets will sell out soon, so don’t wait to reserve your seats!
