Full- and half-day professional development workshops use Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center’s centuries of site history and robust collections and archival materials to build teachers’ content knowledge and instructional strategies. Available on our site or at your school!
Workshops include a museum tour, hands-on primary source document/object analysis, and discussion. Content can focus on various periods in American history, including the colonial era, American Revolution, postbellum 19th century, and early 20th century. Various topics available, with particular strengths in tools, taverns, medicine, inventions, textiles, photography, teahcing inclusive history, diversifying the curriculum, and more.
