Join us for the Opening Keynote presentation of our "Declaration Deep Dive" program series, a collaboration between KTM&HC and Ridgefield Library to commemorate America250.

We welcome Dr. Akhil Reed Amar, Sterling Professor of Law & Political Science at Yale University Law School, and author, journalist and Ridgefield resident Todd Brewster for a lively and engaging discussion of Professor Amar's latest book.

Born Equal: Remaking America’s Constitution, 1840-1920, traces the legacy of the Declaration’s "all men are created equal" proposition from Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin through John Quincy Adams, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln and their allies—and eventually through the Civil War and Woman Suffrage Amendments. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.

This program is free for all. Registration is required.

The next program in this series will feature Dr. Leslie Lindenauer at KTM&HC's Garden House on Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m. To register, and to see future "Declaration Deep Dive" programs, go to www.keelertavernmuseum.org/events.
